Satisfy your cravings

Food choices along the Lake Country Scenic Byway will please any palate. Whether you’re hungry for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can find a satisfying selection.

Some newer establishments offer diverse menus along with traditional American fare. Think Mexican, Chinese, Italian, an old-fashioned soda fountain, or meals made from scratch using fresh, local ingredients. (Yes, that can mean carrot ginger soup and rhubarb pie.) Or maybe you just need a great cup of coffee and Wi-Fi. You’ll find that, too.

In summer, dine on a patio or deck and watch the sailboats or a sunset.

Depending on when you are traveling the Byway, food has become the focus of some local events and festivals often feature food that reflects a community’s cultural traditions. Sometimes food becomes part of seasonal traditions with church basement ladies preparing lefse for the holidays, hunters’ suppers in the fall and a smelt fry in the spring.
